Strength feature:

Using the strength feature allows the person to blow hard and fill as many balls as he or she could. There are 7 balls in each of the 5 levels. The Strength feature works both for inhale and for exhale. Inhaling is important to prevent fluid build-up, reduce vacuum and pop the alveoli in your lungs. Exhaling is important in order to build muscle strength and endurance. The device shows you that last maneuver’s data right after each breathe and counts the total amount of your daily breathing maneuvers.

Endurance feature:

Using the Endurance feature allows the person to blow in a light slow manner for as long as he or she can. The goal is to fill the tube as much as possible. The Endurance feature works for both inhale and for exhale. The device shows you that last maneuver’s data right after each breathe and counts the total amount of your daily breathing maneuvers. Inhaling is important to prevent fluid build-up, reduce vacuum and inflate the alveoli in your lungs. Exhaling is important in order to build muscle strength and endurance.

levels/cones:

There are five levels of difficulty, where level 1 starts from very easy through level 5 which is very hard. It is important to start at the level you are in (if you can reach ball 7 then you should go to the next level), and work your way up. The 5 cones are there in order to breathe against resistance. It has been proven that breathing against resistance is more effective than breathing without resistance (as through a straw). The cones are also there for maximizing the device’s fit to the user’s ability. There are 5 cones, with the easiest one at 20% closing of the exit hole, to the hardest cone closing 80% of the exit hole.

Memory:

Pressing the memory button allows you to go through the last 30 breathing maneuvers. Pressing the memory button again allows you to go through a daily score. Pressing the memory again allows you to scroll through your average breathes per day, month or even year (from the first breathing maneuver taken, or from the last time the memory was erased). This feature allows you to see a separate statistic  for strength or stamina, inhale or exhale.

Free-Style breathing:

Turing the device off, and attaching the appropriate cone allows the person to inhale and exhale continuously. Currently, this exercise is done without measurement, but breathing in and out through the device for a few minutes helps clear the throat, and breathe easier.
